How to play Defenders of Asgard: The basics

Defenders of Asgard is a five-player game that can be played with a deck of cards and a few friends. The object of the game is to devastate your opponents' armies and protect your own.

To set up, each player takes six cards. The remainder of the deck is placed face down in the middle of the players. One player starts by flipping over the top card of their deck-this is their hero. The player to their left flips over the next card. If this card is an ally, they play it in front of them and keep flipping cards. If it's an enemy, they put it back on the bottom of their deck and keep flipping. When an ally is played, the next player flips over a card. Play continues until an enemy is revealed, at which point that player takes all the cards in front of them and adds them to their deck. If you ever draw an enemy card when you have no more allies to play, you lose and are out of the game.

The goal of Defenders of Asgard is to protect your own troops while annihilating your enemies'. Your army can consist of any mixture of heroes, allies, and enemies-as long as you have at least one type in your army, you're good to go. Be sure to keep track of how many cards are in your opponent's armies; once they've been reduced to zero, you win!
